it really is magical…

A while ago, my children chose to experiement with their crayons on the wall.  I can honestly say that I did not “freak out” when it happened… I guess it was one of those things I consider to be a motherhood initiation.  There are many, many things, by the way, that I put in that “initiation” category… but that’s not the point of today’s post.

So, they colored on the wall, I did not freak out, but I did call my sister to tell her.  I figured, with the brood she has, surely one of hers had done the same thing and she could tell me how to get it off!  (by that point, I had tried plain water as the crayons are labled “washable”.  All it did was smear it.  I guess “washable” means off of anything except walls.)

Yes, she had experienced this rite of passage.  And, she told me that Mr. Clean Magic Erasers worked for her in the past.

Fast forward about a week and a half.  I still have not purchased a “magic eraser”, and the walls still have crayon on them.  I’m talking to a friend about how when I’m boiling tea on the cooktop and it boils over, how it leaves this burned looking stain.  Can’t get it off, and I own manymanymany types of cleaners (being the slightly obsessive person I am).  She says that she’s heard that Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work on cooktop burns. Hmmm, seems I’ve heard that somewhere…

I pretty much took it as a sign from God that I needed to get one of these so called “magic” erasers.  At the store, I was a bit upset to see that the original style was sold only in boxes of 4.  What was I going to do with 4 of these suckers?  And, what if I hated them?  What then???  But, I took the plunge, and made the purchase.

Several hours later, 2 of the erasers have been totally used up.  Yes, they truly are magical!  They cleaned my cooktop (which I promptly proceeded to boil over chicken onto the clean surface… typical), and it took the crayon right off of  the paint.   Then, I started scrubbing all sorts of stuff.  It really is quite addictive, this “magical” eraser…

So, to any mommy-souls out there, or any mommies-to-be… invest in a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser if you haven’t yet.  I promise, there will be a day when you will be so very ready to watch it work its magic.  To those who’s wall are covered in unintentional kiddie artwork, invest, I say, invest!

It is the best purchase I have made in a long time.  And, by the way, I’m awfully glad they came in a box of 4.
