Happy Birthday, dear husband of mine…

Today is my dear husband’s birthday.  He is 32 years old.  As I’ve mentioned in other birthday related posts, birthdays are a big deal to me.  I prefer to go overboard on birthdays rather than Christmas or other random holidays (although, I do probably overdo some of those as well…)  because it’s THEIR birthday.  I know, there are probably millions of other people with this same day as “their” day… but I don’t know them, so it doesn’t count. 🙂

So, for the 32nd birthday, Matt had to work.  He has every other Friday off, but this is not one of them.  Boo.  We didn’t do anything in the morning because, well, I am not a morning person.  BUT, the kids did make him a giant card for when he gets home, and just he and I are going out to eat at one of his favorite restaurants tonight.  DATE NIGHT!!! Woohoo.  Tomorrow, I arranged for a bunch of friends to meet at the bowling alley in the morning to celebrate (albeit, a day late).  One of Matt’s good friends had a birthday yesterday, so we’re doing a joint birthday bowling bash.  Should be fun.  I made confetti cupcakes to bring, since dear Matt really is a kid at heart, and that’s his favorite.

Tomorrow is also when he’s getting his present.  After we’re finished bowling, he’s meeting his brother/sister-in-law (they have zero kids, so have the luxury of jetting off whenever…)  and driving to Dallas to meet up with one of their cousins and go to the Dallas Cowboys football pre-season game.  I have to admit, I’m a little jealous.  But, I’m glad he can go.  🙂

So, to my dear Matty…

I love you so very, very much!  You are an amazing, attentive, and hard-working husband.  You are a devoted, involved, caring father.  I’m so glad God picked you for me!

  1. Oh, that was so sweet :). I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend celebrating. And, just so you know, if I lived nearby- I would absolutely watch Rachel and Eli so you could go to the game tomorrow, too. And I wouldn’t make you feel guilty. And I wouldn’t ask for something in return. I would just do it because I love you :). Happy Birthday Matti!
