shopping, tired, & hungry

We went to a home improvement store today.  Matt’s off, and this weekend’s “projects” revolve around finishing/working on Eli’s room conversion from baby nursery to big boy room.  This weekend, the goal is to do a little painting, and perhaps start on a toy box/chest.  We looked at buying them, but realized that for the cost of a cheaply made toy box, we could make a much better quality one.  So, we’re goin’ for it.

First we priced everything, and then I had a coupon from a competitor store.  Asked if this store would honor it, and indeed they did.  That saved us a trip!  Went back through the store, picked up all the items we needed, got the sheet of wood cut to sizes we needed, and picked a paint color for it.

By the time all of this was finished, the kids were both screaming, and I was starving.  It was approximately 10:45am, and we had eaten a pancake breakfast.  I popped open a bag of M&M’s for them (yes, I’ve become one of those people who pays later… but I do pay!)  to occupy them the last few minutes to prevent a total meltdown of them, therefore me.

After paying, went to Sub.way where I had a BLT sub with pickles, banana peppers, spinach, oil & vinegar, mayo, and of course bacon/lettuce/tomato.  This baby is craving some things I don’t normally eat. 🙂  I ate it, and I could have eaten another.  I’m still hungry.

Anyways, hopefully everyone takes a nap today, ’cause Rachel’s no-napping policy has finally caught up to me and I feel tired to my very insides.  This afternoon I hope to start on the room conversion.  Will post pics as we get stuff done!

  1. That baby is growing, huh? 🙂 I “pay later,” too. Try not to do it too often, but do it more often than I’d like! I can’t wait to see pictures of Eli’s room!

  2. Yes, definitely a growing baby! Last night, Matt said, “hey, when you get back from the kitchen and your feeding frenzy…” Yeah. He thought it was funny. I did not so much. 🙂
