I received an email yesterday from the mother of one of the kids that will be in Rachel’s kindergarten class. She wanted to find out if there was any interest in having the kids get together for a playdate before school started. After all, starting school for the first time can be a little nerve-wracking; if the kids are already familiar with one another, it might make things a little easier.
A day or so before that email, I received an email mentioning when the school’s uniform closet is open.
Both emails are a sharp reminder that this period of my life, the one with all three of my babies at home with me, is rapidly coming to an end.
It’s a bittersweet realization.
I think my angst with kindergarten is not so much about kindergarten as it is about how FAST my babies are growing up!
As Rachel gets older, things just seem to speed up even more. I feel like I’m grasping at time, but it’s too hard to hold on to.
