a few gifts
Today I’m kinda grouchy. I didn’t sleep super well. (It may have been the dream about trying to pet a baby deer that kept running away. The deer turned into Julianne and I couldn’t hold her.)
Or, it could be the heat (every year this time of year I find myself searching for houses for sale in the Great Northwest).
Or, the fact that we have SEVEN days until school starts, and it’s like the last trimester of pregnancy around here. These kids just want OUT.
While I am trying to enjoy the last week, it’s just hard today.
Rather than live grouchy, I am purposefully posting a few gifts from today.
We left on an adventure to find Bird Bakery. Found it, and it’s the cutest little place.
We had fun on the way there, while there, and I had an awesome spinach/parmesan quiche.
After the breakfast adventure, we headed to the Zoo. It was still less than 90* outside, so pretty nice!
We watched a snake shed its skin, which was fun! The fact that it was behind glass made it more fun. 😉
I watched one child be the “planner” map reader…
And one child run freely wanting to have “an adventure”…
And then… a Texas summer must… SNO CONES!!! Here’s the evidence of the treat…
Post Sno Cone we headed in the Lory enclosure. With food. Last time we did this I almost had a panic attack. Today was for the kids. And I made Rachel hold the food…
Boys got a turn next…
I am thankful for all of these gifts.
For the smiles, for the sour cherry Sno Cone, and for the adventures we had.
And now, off to the pool.
